October 16 (Fuzhou News) -- The winners of 2021 China Smart City Awards powered by World Smart City Awards were revealed in the Smart City Expo Shanghai on the evening of October 15. Under the organization of Fuzhou Municipal Administration Commission of Big Data Development, Fuzhou Coordinated Diversion and Drainage Center for Urban Waters and Fuzhou Urban Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. participated in the competition. Their projects of “Smart Water Diversion” and “5G+ Smart City” won the Energy & Environment Award and the Infrastructure & Buildings Award respectively, making Fuzhou the only city that was presented with two prizes in the 2021 China Smart City Awards. This indicates that Fuzhou’s smart city exploration is becoming a model in China, and even the world at large, and that the international brand of “Digital Fuzhou” is gaining further influence globally.
It is learned that the Smart City Expo World Congress is a benchmark government-enterprise summit of global smart city construction, and is also the world's largest themed exhibition focusing on the development and transformation of intelligentized cities and society. The World Smart City Awards is one of the key activities of the Congress, known as the "Oscars" in the field of smart city industry. The two award-winning projects were selected from 117 projects applied by 30 cities of 10 provinces, 4 municipalities and 3 autonomous regions across China.
