“Smart Navigation Support”Joins Hands with “Maritime Fuzhou” to Start a New Chapter of Strategic Cooperation

On April 26, the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government and the Eastern Navigation Service Center, Maritime Safety Administration signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the 4th Digital China Summit so as to jointly build a demonstration and application base for marine services of smart navigation support and integrated development of urban construction of “Digital Fuzhou” and help Fuzhou build itself into a “Strategic Hub of 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road” and a “No.1 City of Digital Application”.


Situated in the west coast of the north Taiwan Strait, endowed with abundant marine resources, Fuzhou has taken marine economic development as an important growth pole of its scientific development and leapfrog progress. To accelerate modern marine industrial development and turn the advantages of marine resources into practical advantages of marine economy, the Eastern Navigation Service Center, Maritime Safety Administration will speed up the in-depth integration between navigation and modern information, artificial intelligence and other high technologies, as well as actively cultivate and develop new business forms of smart navigation support.


According to reports, the cooperation between the two sides will focus on strategic decisions on “Maritime Fuzhou” and “Digital Fuzhou”, break data barriers for the joint building of a demonstration and application base for the digital integrated development of the city and the ocean, integrate relevant resources to establish a system of big data resources for “Fuzhou’s Maritime Silk Road”, expand application service scenarios, and strengthen the construction of new marine infrastructure, so as to together promote the building of E Navigation Demonstration Area in the Minjiang River estuary, provide services for local administrative supervision and management, advance the transformation of marine big data achievements, and inject impetus to the upgrading of digital marine industries. Besides, a demonstration site is planned to establish for the digital integrated development of the city and the ocean within three years with the functions of achievements showcases, case application and international exchanges. “Smart Navigation Support” joining hands with “Maritime Fuzhou” will enhance Fuzhou’s competitiveness to expedite the upgrading of digital marine economic industries.
