Recently, the Guyana Fisheries Industrial Park project invested by Fuzhou's deep-sea fishery enterprise was largely completed and has now been put into operation. At the same time, the output of Fuzhou's overseas fishery bases in Africa and Indonesia has also increased significantly, which is a good sign for all the overseas offshore fishery bases of Fuzhou.
At the edge of the desert in Mauritania, the Mauritania Fishery Base of Fuzhou Hong Dong Fisheries Co., Ltd, covering an area of 90,000 square meters, is currently the largest overseas fishery base of China. This year, the production and sales of the base have continued to keep a good momentum, with an increase of about 20% year-on-year, and the products have been sold to Asia, Europe and Africa. By extending the industrial chains, the project also attracts investors from related supporting enterprises, which has a positive impact on local development in politics, economy, employment, taxation and fishery.
Earlier this year, the integrated farming site on Seram Island, Indonesia also saw a bumper harvest. "Last month, the monthly production of fresh shrimp alone was nearly 2,000 tons, almost three times as much as the same period last year." said the company's manager.
In recent years, the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee and Fuzhou Municipal Government have introduced a number of policies to support enterprises to jointly pursue the “Belt and Road” initiative and to invest or build fishery bases outside of China, which has strongly promoted the exchange and cooperation between Fuzhou and other foreign countries, establishing mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation relationships.
Statistics show that, at present, Fuzhou enterprises have invested and built nine overseas fisheries bases in ASEAN, Africa and other regions, ranking the first in China in terms of the scale and quantity of fishery bases.
