Three Counties of Fuzhou Entered GDP Top 100 Nationwide

TIME:2021-04-09 10:24

Fuzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics told our journalist yesterday that according to the latest GDP data released by cities and counties across the country, three places of Fuzhou ranked among the top 100 in terms of GDP size, namely, Fuqing city (the 19th), Minhou County (the 52th) and Lianjiang County (the 96th).

57 billion yuan was the threshold for a city or county to become a Top 100 economy this time. With targeted measures on stabilizing enterprises and economic growth, Fuqing’s economy registered a stable performance with sound momentum and its GDP reached 122.854 billion yuan. The GDP of Minhou achieved 79.304 billion yuan, thanks to its efforts in upgrading industries, its reforms to streamline administration and delegate power, improve regulation and upgrade services, and its enabling business environment. The GDP of Lianjiang reached 59.485 billion yuan, owing to its focus on developing projects, caring for enterprises above designated size and enhancing economic impetus.

Lianjiang County entered the Top 100 economies nationwide for the first time, breaking the bottleneck that in Fuzhou City, only two areas (Fuqing City and Minhou County) remained in the ranking list for 4 years running.

An official from the Municipal Bureau of Statistics said that being a member of Top 100 is not the end of a county’s economic development but the beginning of a successful county model for the future. As this year marks the beginning of the 14th Five-year Plan, we, upholding the new development version, should appropriately coordinate urban and rural development and continuously improve people’s well-being, so as to enhance people’s sense of happiness and attainment.
