Musi Banyuasin Regency is located in the province of South Sumatra, Indonesia, with a total area of 14,265.96 square kilometers, accounting for fifteen percent of the area of South Sumatra. As of 2020, the total population is 622,206 people. The district has developed mining, processing, fodder, and rubber products industries, and the superior products are palm, rubber, sugar cane, coconut, coffee, and cocoa.

The type of land use with the widest distribution is primary forest, which accounts for 37.53% of the total area, followed by people's gardens and large plantations.
