Dr. Bernadia Irawati Tjandradewi took up the position as the Secretary-General of UCLG ASPAC on July 1, 2013. Prior to UCLG ASPAC, she worked for CITYNET based in Yokohama as the Programme Director for 15 years as well as at the JICA Indonesia Office. She has a strong portfolio of experience in local governance and development goals and capacity building of local actors, especially in the local government. She has a Masters degree in Atmospheric Phycis (1993) from Nagoya University, Japan, a second Masters degree in Public Policy (1995) from National University of Singapore, and a Ph.D. (2006) in urban engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan.
