Since the 18th CPC National Congress, President Xi Jinping has placed poverty alleviation at a prominent position in his governance, bringing about the complete victory in the fight against poverty, which provides important references for other developing countries in their poverty reduction efforts. Fujian is an important place for the birth and implementation of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. While working in Fujian, President Xi Jinping created a series of important concepts on poverty alleviation and put them into practice. His thoughts are of great significance for us to consolidate and enhance the achievements of poverty alleviation, foster rural revitalization, and promote the global poverty reduction.

Mr. Yin Li emphasized that at the first China-Pacific Island Countries Foreign Ministers' Meeting, China announced to establish China-Pacific Island Countries Poverty Alleviation and Cooperative Development Center. Today, its inauguration

marks the entry into a new chapter of the cooperation between Fujian and the Pacific island countries, and will effectively promote the joint development of China and the Pacific island countries. Fujian will give full play to its unique advantages to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Pacific island countries by the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits for mutual benefits and win-win results. It is the hope of Mr. Yin Li that Fujian Province and Pacific island countries can share their experience of poverty alleviation, promote international cooperation, such as the Juncao technology cooperation, and better serve the well being of local people. It is significant to jointly integrate into the "Belt and Road" development, expand multilateral and bilateral economic and trade exchanges, and promote the continuous deepening of cooperation in various fields. It is also important to jointly carry out cultural cooperation to promote friendly people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, in order to further build bridges of friendship and make new contributions to the overall situation of China-Pacific island countries relations.
