On November 23 (Beijing time), the 7th “Maritime Silk Road” (Fuzhou) International Tourism Festival, themed “Maritime Silk Road Cooperation for Thriving Culture and Tourism”, kicked off in Fuzhou. At the invitation of the Foreign Affiars Office of Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government, Mr. Kalani Ka'anā'anā, Chief Brand Officer of the Hawaii Tourism Authority addressed the launch ceremony of the Festival via a recorded video.
In the video, Mr. Ka'anā'anā extended cordial contratulations on the opening of the Festival. He noted the profound ties in history and solid foundation of exchanges between China and State of Hawaii, and highlighted the newly established friendship city relationship between Fuzhou and Honolulu City, the capital of Hawaii. In this context of friendship, Mr. Ka'anā'anā invited Chinese tourists to visit Hawaii after the pandemic, for the experience of the unique island culture and the “Aloha Spirit”.
This year, the “Maritime Silk Road” (Fuzhou) International Tourism Festival is sponsored by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC and Fujian Provincial People’s Government, and organized by Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government. With four major events, namely the Lauch Ceremony and “Maritime Silk Road” (Fuzhou) Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Summit, “Experiencing Culture and Tourism: ‘The Night of the Maritime Silk Road’”, Fujian Tourism Fair 2021: “Passion for Travel, Passion for Life”, and the 12th Fuzhou Hot Spring International Tourism Festival, the Festival’s online and offline activities will last through the middle of December.
