UCLG ASPAC Manifesto 2020-2025 Incorporated Fuzhou’s Proposal

    On the afternoon of Jan. 27 (Beijing time), Secretariat of United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) convened the Third Meeting of Development Committee on Manifesto 2020-2025 (the Manifesto) and invited the Committee members to have in-depth exchanges on Draft of the Manifesto. Secretariat of 21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee attended the meeting. Chaired by Dr. Bernadia, Secretary General of UCLG ASPAC, the meeting successively discussed the date of formal adoption of the Manifesto, the contents added to the previous draft and new contents to be added to the current draft. Local Government New Zealand, All India Institute of Local Self-Government, Makati City of the Philippines, Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Zhengzhou City, Fuzhou City, Taipei City and other representatives of members spoke in turns and put forward relevant opinions and suggestions.

       In reference to the Draft Zero, Fuzhou City previously proposed to add contents concerning maritime cooperation to further promote the development of marine economy, advance the construction of smart oceans, and foster the conservation of fishery resources and marine environment. The proposal has been adopted by the Secretariat of UCLG ASPAC and has been fully embodied in the current Manifesto.
