On November 17, Lin Baojin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Committee, Secretary of Fuzhou CPC Committee, visited Lianjiang County. During the visit, Lin emphasized the importance of studying and practicing the spirit of the 5th Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Lin also urged to speed up the development of marine economy and strengthen the protection of ecological environment in accordance with the requirements of the CPC Fujian Committee and Fujian provincial government. An all-out effort should also be made to promote the high-quality development of Lianjiang, so as to build up a basition for “Maritime Fuzhou Strategy”.

As ocean is the most valuable natural resource of Lianjiang, Lin Baojin was so concerned about the progress on the protection of marine ecological environment that he went to the town for mountain and sea sports at Dinghai bay, and conducted a field inspection on the rectification of problems raised by Central Supervision Office of Ecological and Environmental Protection. After that, he stressed that everyone should resolutely take up responsibility, Based on the requirements for rectification, all staff should maintain effective communication with leaders and report the progress of projects timely. To completely resolve all problems, we should elaborate on the problem list and tick them off one by one by addressing them seriously and thoroughly, Lin noted.

On arriving Dinghai village of Xiaocheng town, Lin Baojin took a boat trip to an aquaculture platform for deep-sea fisheries called “Zhenyu I “. There, Lin asked about the performance and characteristics of the platform, as well as the profitability of breeding and production. Also, he had an on-site consultation with the Fuzhou municipal government, Lianjiang County government and project managers from Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Co. Ltd., in an effort to coordinate and promote the construction of “An Ecological Aquaculture Platform with a Hundred Aquariums Weighing Tens of Thousand Tons”. In Guanwu Village, Lin Baojin walked into a seed breeding base called "Fu Bao I" to learn about the breeding and selling of a new abalone. He pointed out that aquaculture is the economic backup of Lianjiang. Therefore, we should insist in making profits through adopting science and technology, improving project management and enlarging the scale of production. Also, we should actively cultivate new varieties of aquatic organisms, develop new marketing models and promote new retail formats. While taking the first step of aquaculture, we’d better extend other industrial chains such as the fine finishing, marine tourism and so on, so as to promote the integrated development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries.

In Danyang town, Lin Baojin listened carefully to project plan of the logistics park in Economic Development Zone of Lianjiang, and inspected the construction of Zhengxiang (Lianjiang) Strait International Agricultural Products Logistics Park on the spot. Lin urged Lianjiang County to seize the opportunity of building a large domestic circulation, identify the position of development, plan and promote the project with high standard and high efficiency. Lin also suggested that Lianjiang strengthen its ability to attract investment, and strive to build a national regional logistics distribution center to achieve a new round of major development.

Lin Baojin stressed that "Maritime Fuzhou Strategy" is a development strategy planned and initiated by Xi Jinping himself, General Secretary of CPC Central Committee, during the time when he was working in Fuzhou. Therefore, Lianjiang County should follow the strategic deployment of General Secretary Xi Jinping, grasp the new development stage, implement the new development concept, build a new development pattern, step up to plan and promote the development of the marine economy, and thus kick off "China’s 14th Five-Year Plan” to a good start. Taking the standardization of industrial parks as an opportunity, Lianjiang County must speed up the construction of both industrial parks and logistics parks. Enterprises like “Zhenyu I” and “Fubao I” should be given full play to their role as leading enterprises, developing and building “Marine barn” and “Marine pasture”. The protection of Ocean’s ecological environment should also be strengthened by establishing and improving the long-term management mechanism while strictly adhering to the red line of ecological protection. Lastly, Lianjiang should also coordinate the prevention and control of COVID-19 with socioeconomic development, and sprint to complete the annual target with full motivation.
