Shanghai, China
Shanghai is the largest city in China, a provincial administrative region, a direct-administered municipality, a mega-city, a national logistics hub, and a global center for economy, finance, trade, scientific and technological innovation as well as shipping. The city has 16 districts with a total area of 6,340.5 square kilometers. Shanghai is a national historical and cultural city, with in-depth cultural heritage combined both modern city with many historical monuments. Today, Shanghai has successfully hosted the 2010 World Expo, the China Shanghai International Art Festival, the Shanghai International Film Festival and other large-scale international events. Shanghai is a city that thrives because of its port. The port of Shanghai ranks first in the world in terms of cargo throughput and container throughput. Shanghai is also home to the first free trade zone in mainland China—the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. On July 6, 2020, China Central Television (CCTV) released the list of "The Most Livable Cities in China" for 2019-2020, and Shanghai is on the list.
