Prof. Chen Jianming is the director and a researcher of the Institute of Oceanography at Minjiang University. Prior to joining Minjiang University, he worked as a researcher and a doctoral supervisor at the Third Institute of Oceanography of State Oceanic Administration. He also served as the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Marine Biogenetic Resources at the State Oceanic Administration. Professor Chen’s research focuses on marine pharmacognosy and evolution of blood cells. He has chaired several national research projects including the National Marine Public Welfare Research Project initiated by IOCAS, an international cooperation project launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a National Natural Science Foundation project. He received a doctorate degree in molecular developmental biology from University of Zurich, a master degree and a bachelor degree in biology from Peking University.
