From the mystical allure of butterflies to the brilliance of hand-painted glass—this is Jingcai Huadie, crystal radiance butterfly, the world’s largest hand-painted crystal glass butterfly, resting in Fuzhou. Inlaid with real diamonds and brought to life with over 2,000 mineral pigments, it is the work of master artisans. The craft itself dates back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and was inscribed on Fujian’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2019. A living butterfly may be fleeting, but this one endures.
