The Third Silk Road International Youth Photography and Short Video Competition

The Third Silk Road International Youth Photography and Short Video Competition, sponsored by 21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee and Fuzhou People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, is now open for entries. Details about the Competition are as follows:

Theme: Old Silk Road, Young in Cultures

You may create work(s) about cultural heritage, food culture, historical buildings and monuments, marine culture, natural environment, famous historical figures, etc..

Rules of Entry

1. Who can participate

The Competition is open to teenagers aged between 12 and 20.

There are two categories: Photography and Short Videos. Participants of each category will be further divided into Group A (for teenagers aged 12-15), Group B (for teenagers aged 16-20). 

2. How to participate

The Competition is free to enter.

Please send your entries via email to srcompetition2024@163.com along with the Application form (available on the official website). 

You may submit no more than 2 pieces of entries.

You may team up with no more than one person. The entries you submit as a team will enter the age group (Group A: 12-15, Group B: 16-20) to which the older team member belongs.

3. Requirements

Entries must be original and unpublished works. Piracy and plagiarism are prohibited. In case of copyright disputes, participants shall assume full responsibility. Entries will not be returned. The organizer shall have the right to use the winning works in media including but not limited to books, newspapers, magazines, films and television, and the Internet, and will not pay extra remuneration for the works adopted. 

For Photos:

(1) You may submit color or black and white photo(s). The file name of your work(s) should contain: title of the piece, name of author(s), contact information. 

(2) Each entry must be in JPG format and the file size should be no less than 1MB. The raw data files should be kept for verification as finalists must submit the RAW or original camera files by request. 

For Short Videos:

(1) No entry shall be longer than 3 minutes. Videos done in languages other than Chinese or English should provide subtitles in Chinese or English.

(2) The minimum requirement for resolution is 720P and short videos submitted should be in MP4 format. The original videos and raw data files should be kept for verification as finalists must submit the RAW or original camera files by request.

(3) The filming and editing of video must be independently done by the author(s).

4. Awards Setting

In each of the six groups, there will be 3 first-prize winner; 5 second-prize winners; 10 third-prize winners and 20 excellent award winners. 

5. Prizes

(1) First Prize: CNY 2000 for Photography Category; CNY 5000 for Short Video Category 

(2) Second Prize: CNY 1000 for Photography Category; CNY 3000 for Short Video Category

(3) Third Prize: CNY 500 for Photography Category; CNY 1000 for Short Video Category

(4) Excellent Award: Souvenir

(5) Winners may be invited to a paid tour in Fuzhou for the awards ceremony
