There are 86 China-Europe freight routes where speeds reach up to 120 kilometers per hour. The railway department optimizes the operation of China-Europe trains, and gives priority to it to ensure safe, stable and efficient operation.
The number of two-way trains between Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi Province and Duisburg, Germany has doubled to two, with the travel time stable at 12 days, according to China Railway. The travel time of two-way trains between Chengdu of Sichuan Province and Lodz in Poland, and the return train from Duisburg to Xi'an has been shortened by more than 5 days.
In order to meet European consumers' demand, the railway department develops the cold chain logistics to carry fresh fruits. This year, the proportion of high value-added and high-tech products, such as electric vehicles and accessories, high-end machinery, and smart phones has increased significantly. Customized trains are also made to carry goods such as toys, cotton yarn, and tea.
China-Europe freight trains now cover almost the entire Euroasian continent, expanding the economic and trade interactions with countries along the route, deepening the production international capacity cooperation, accelerating the circulation of resources, and exerting significant radiation effect.
