Wu Xiande, Mayor of the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government Meets with a Delegation Led by 
Mr. Bernardito C. Ang, City Administrator of Manila

On April 20, 2023, Mr. Wu Xiande, Mayor of the Fuzhou Municipal Peoples Government met with a delegation led by Mr. Bernardito C. Ang, City Administrator of Manila, the Philippines, accompanied by Mr. Huang Jianxiong, Deputy Mayor of the Fuzhou Municipal Peoples government and Mr. Zhu Hanmin, Secretary General of the Fuzhou Municipal Peoples Government.

Mr. Wu Xiande extended welcome to the delegation on behalf of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee and the Fuzhou Municipal Peoples Government, and briefed on Fuzhous economic and social development. He said that Manila and Fuzhou, the capital city of the Philippines and Fujian Province respectively, have enjoyed a time-honored history of people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as economic and trade cooperation since ancient times, despite the miles that separated us. He expressed his hope that the delegation could take the visit as an opportunity to further experience the long history, profound culture, green environment and the vibrant development, enhance the understanding of Fuzhou, introduce Fuzhou to more enterprises and people of the Philippines and invite  them to visit, invest and operate business here. He hoped the delegation could continue to push forward the sustained people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as economic and trade cooperation between Manila and Fuzhou, and promote official cooperation through people-to-people exchanges, thus contributing to the development of friendly relations between China and the Philippines. 

  

 

Mr. Bernardito C. Ang, City Administrator of Malina, extended his gratitude to  Fuzhous hospitality. He expressed that Fuzhou was a friendship city of Manila. He hoped that exchanges and cooperation in various fields could be strengthened to enhance the friendship between the two cities. Despite some divergence between China and the Philippines at present, the friendly relations between Manila and Fuzhou are not affected. Through his visit to Fuzhou, he realized the enormous potential for cooperation and broad prospect for development between the two cities. He hoped that the two cities could maintain close contact and deepen pragmatic cooperation. 

The 10-person delegation led by Mr. Bernardito C. Ang visited Fuzhou from April 19th to 21th. During their stay in Fuzhou, the delegation toured the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys Historical and Cultural District to experience the charm of Fuzhous traditional culture.
