To better implement President Xi Jinping's important instructions on the work of sister cities, Mr. Lin Baojin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee, headed a delegation to the Philippines in early March to meet with Ms. Honey Lacuna-Pangan, Mayor of Manila, a sister city of Fuzhou.
Mr. Lin Baojin said that the two cities, with a long history of exchange and fruitful cooperation, enjoy great potential for cooperation in areas such as agriculture, machinery, electronic information, marine fisheries, mineral development and utilization, and tourism. Through such initiatives as the China-Indonesia “Two Countries, Twin Parks” and the China-Philippines “Two Countries, Twin Parks”, the two sides may complement each other, explore the international division of labour cooperation model with deep integration of industrial chain, supply chain and value chain, and reach new highs in economic and trade cooperation. Ms. Honey Lacuna-Pangan agreed that the sisterhood promises greater cooperation between the two and said that Manila looks forward to more exchanges and cooperation with Fuzhou in various fields for mutual benefits and win-win.
During the meeting, Mr. Lin Baojin and Ms. Honey Lacuna-Pangan signed the "Cooperation Agreement between Fuzhou City and the City of Manila", consolidating the foundation for the two cities to engage in more exchanges and closer cooperation, and forge stronger people-to-people ties.
