China marks its 18th National Maritime Day on July 11, with the focus on green, low-carbon and smart, and sustainable development of maritime shipping. On the very day, the launching ceremony of the main forum of China Maritime Forum 2022 and China Maritime Week 2022 was held in Dalian City, Liaoning Province.
To further increase the scale, the brand appeal and the influence of its National Maritime Day, China held the China Maritime Week for the first time this year, which covers four sections including China Maritime Forum, the Annual Academic Conference of China Institute of Navigation, National Maritime Science Popularization Week and Marine Science and Technology Expo.
It is learned that China Maritime Forum 2022 covers a main forum and nine sub-forums, focusing on international shipping technology and safety, port and shipping enterprise development, maritime culture and other topics. In respond to the first International Day for Women in Maritime (May 18) established by the international Maritime Organization, China will also hold an international high-level forum on the education and development for women in maritime as part of its China Maritime Forum 2022.
Mr.Yi Jiyong, Deputy Director-General of the Water Transport Bureau under the Ministry of Transport, said that in recent years, the Ministry of Transport has attached great importance to the green, low-carbon and smart development of water transport. By adopting a systematic approach to promoting infrastructure construction, transport structure adjustment, new energy and clean energy applications, pollution control, scientific and technological innovation, tangible results have been achieved in pursuing the green, low-carbon and smart development of water transport.
