A 300,000-ton logistics terminal in Kemen Port
On the south bank of Luoyuan Bay, at the Lianjiang County, the rapidly developing Kemen Port is as dynamic as the ocean waves.
“On the one hand, we build an industrial park to attract enterprises, and conduct the ‘120 Days for Critical Tasks’ Campaign to accelerate the standardized construction of the industrial park. On the other hand, we do meticulous work in attracting and supporting leading enterprises, cultivating large industrial clusters and developing strong industries, and are dedicated to being a pacesetter in the construction of the Silk Road Port City to boost high-quality development.” Zheng Chengfeng, the First Secretary of the CPC Kemen Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Kemen Economic Development Area, said yesterday.
One hundred years ago, Mr. Sun Yat-sen proposed in his book, “Fundamentals of National Reconstruction”, the vision of building Kemen into a “Great Oriental Port”. One hundred years later, as a major component of the Silk Road Port City, Kemen Port is implementing at a faster pace the blueprint of “an indusrial park worth 100 billion yuan and a port with a throughput of 100 million tons”.
In Kemen Economic Development Area, three major industries are developing forcefully in a cluster, where Shenyuan New Material Integrated Industrial Park represents the new chemical materials industry, Fujian Huadian Kemen Thermal Power Co., Ltd. and Shenghua Luoyuan Bay Port Power Co., Ltd. represent the energy and power industry, and Fujian Huadian Warehousing and Transportation Co., Ltd. and Fujian Kemen Port Logistics Co., Ltd. represent the modern port logistics.
With a total investment of over 50 billion yuan, covering a total area of 8,191 mu, Shenyuan New Material Integrated Industrial Park sees its multiple projects going well, and strives to build itself into the world’s largest and most competitive caprolactam production base. According to an official in charge of the project, a number of high-quality projects in the industrial park will help Fujian Province and China achieve high-quality development in various fields. During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, the industrial park will vigorously pursue the “Three 100-Billion-Yuan” Goal, pushing its output, market and sales values all across the 100-billion-yuan threshold.
Meanwhile, the energy and power industry and port logistics industry are fast and steadily underway. China Energy (Lianjiang) Port Power Co., Ltd. has invested and constructed two 1000 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Units. Among them, No.1 unit is expected to be put into operation in November, which will comprehensively improve Fujian Province’s capacity in energy and power supply. Besides, six logistics terminals, ranging from 50,000 tons to 300,000 tons, have been completed, and utmost efforts are being made for the planning of a 400,000-ton terminal, while the building of a 100-million-ton port is speeding up.
The industrial park is an epitome of the industrial clusters cultivated in Kemen Economic Development Area. According to the information provided, through multi-pronged measures such as attracting and supporting leading enterprises, building supporting infrastructure, strengthening financing, and fostering institutional innovation, Kemen Economic Development Area is advancing the standardized construction of the industrial park. At the same time, the development area carries out meticulous work by launching the “Thousands of Cadres Enter Thousands of Enterprises” Compaign to provide enterprises with services for every detail and create a first-class business environment.
