Fuzhou Participated in the First Session of 2022 UCLG ASPAC Executive Bureau Meeting

From June 9th to 10th, the First Session of the 2022 Executive Bureau Meeting of United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (hereinafter referred to as "UCLG ASPAC"), was held in a hybrid form with the offline venue in Xian City, China, by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (hereinafter referred to as "CPAFFC"), UCLG ASPAC, and Xian Municipal Peoples Government, around the theme of joining hands to build robust, green and balanced cities for the future. The event was composed of over ten activities, including the Opening and Closing Sessions, the Committee Meetings, the Plenary Session, the Executive Bureau Meeting, etc., which were participated by over 120 local and regional leaders from 70 cities in 17 countries, such as China, Repulic of Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal, New Zealand, and so on. Mr. Lin Songtian, President of CPAFFC, Mr. Li Mingyuan, Co-President of United Cities and Local Governments and Mayor of Xi'an City, and Mr. Ashok Kumar Byanju Shrestha, President of UCLG ASPAC and Mayor of Dhulikel City, Nepal, delivered speeches at the Opening Session. Representatives from Foreign Affairs Office of Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government participated in a series of activities of the event on behalf of Fuzhou City.

On June 10, at the Executive Bureau Meeting Foreign Affairs Office of Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government briefed on the work progress of the 21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee (hereinafter referred to as "the Committee") since July, 2021, its participation in activities of the international organizations, and its plan for the future work. The Committee plans to continuously enhance the international influence of Fuzhou City and the Committee by expanding maritime exchanges and cooperation, leveraging its role as a platform, fostering its development vitality, deepening the exchanges and industrial cooperation between the Committee members and the cities along the "Maritime Silk Road", and increasing the numbers of Committee members and advisers through multiple channels. In addition, at the 2022 BRLC Committee Meeting and Forum on City’s Low-Carbon Growth on June 9, a representative of C40 Cities introduced the features and practices of Fuzhou Renewable Energy Building Application Projects in the section of case sharing, demonstrating the image of Fuzhou as a "green and low-carbon" city.
