The 12th Silk Road International Film Festival is set to take place from Sept. 22 to 26 in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province, highlighting four key features: 

Enhanced international exchange and cooperation: This year's festival underscores its international focus with over 3,500 film submissions for exhibition and competition from 135 countries and regions. 

Empowering industry development: A special promotional event will spotlight key projects in the Fujian film industry. Additionally, nine provinces, including Jilin, Jiangxi, Chongqing, Jiangsu, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, and Guangdong, will showcase their significant film projects, with Shaanxi hosting a special promotion event. 

Cultural benefits for the people: From Sept. 20 to Oct. 8, 100 high-quality films will be screened over 200 times in 17 cinemas across Fujian province. 

Further highlighting Cross-Strait integrated development: The festival introduces a new section dedicated to Cross-Strait film activities, featuring events such as the Cross-Strait (Fuzhou) youth short film screening series, exchanges between young filmmakers from both sides, and promotions of outstanding film projects from Taiwan Region. 

This year’s festival will feature 12 events, including an opening ceremony, the presentation of the “Golden Silk Road Awards”, and the Forum on the Exchange and Cooperation of “Belt and Road” Film Industries.
