Guo Ningning, on behalf of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee, the Fuzhou Municipal Government, and the people of Fuzhou, extended a warm welcome to the leaders and guests attending the conference. She noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s proposal for the “Maritime Fuzhou” strategic vision and the 5th anniversary of the initiative to build a “maritime community with a shared future.” The World Maritime Equipment Conference carries profound significance. Guo expressed her hope that attendees would center their discussions around the keynote session’s theme, “Building a Green Ecology, Sharing Smart Achievements,” engaging in in-depth exchanges and dialogues. She encouraged participants to contribute to the cooperative and innovative development of the global marine economy, emphasizing the need for collective wisdom and collaboration. Guo underscored the importance of leveraging the ocean as a medium and advancing toward the sea while deepening cooperation in areas such as industrial and supply chain connectivity, industry-academia-research collaboration, and the transformation and application of marine technological achievements. She called for fostering the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation to strengthen and expand the marine economy and accelerate the building of a maritime community with a shared future.
At the keynote session, keynotes were delivered by Shi Dai, General Manager of China Merchants Group, Sheng Jigang, Deputy General Manager of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), Yan Ci, Chief Representative for Maersk in North Asia, Zhang Baochen, Chairman of the International Association of Institutes of Navigation, Zeng Yuqun, Chairman of CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd.), Yan Xinping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Lin Jian, Foreign Academician of the Academia Europaea. They shared their practical experiences and research findings, engaging in in-depth discussions on the application of innovative results, breakthroughs in frontier technologies, and trends in the development of the maritime equipment industry. Together, they contributed ideas and advice for building a maritime powerhouse and advancing global marine development.
During the session, the Fuzhou Initiative for Developing New Marine Quality Productive Forces was unveiled. The initiative emphasizes prioritizing innovation and digitalization, fostering sustainability and collaboration, leveraging the World Maritime Equipment Conference as a platform for exchange, and collectively advancing new marine quality productive forces. It also advocates enhancing marine welfare and contributing to the construction of a maritime community with a shared future through greater wisdom and strength.
