The development of green ship manufacturing industry is an important direction of the new round of changes in the global maritime industry. In July this year, the International Maritime Organization adopted the "2023 Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Strategy for Ships", which clearly states that greenhouse gas emissions from international shipping should peak as soon as possible, reach "net zero emissions" around 2050, and comprehensively accelerate the process of ship decarbonization.
In the new stage of green, low-carbon and high-quality development of China's economy and society, accelerating the green transformation of shipbuilding industry is an internal requirement for promoting new industrialization, building a modern industrial system, forming new growth points and achieving high-quality development. Data show that in 2022, China's new orders for green powered ships accounted for 49% of the total orders, a record high, laying the foundation for accelerating the development of green ship manufacturing industry.
Promoting the development of green ship manufacturing industry mainly includes the following three key directions. First, build a green ship product system, speed up the formation of green ship lineage supply capacity, focus on promoting the development and application of green power ships such as LNG, methanol, ammonia and fuel cells, and create standardized and serialized brand products. The second is to promote the green transformation of the manufacturing system, focusing on the three aspects of shipbuilding, ship repair and ship dismantling, establishing an advanced ship assembly and construction system, and accelerating the digital transformation of ship assembly and construction; Promote the construction of green ship repair center, and vigorously develop green and digital ship repair; We will fully implement safe and environmentally sound ship dismantling, strictly implement the list system of hazardous substances on ships, and improve the technical level of reprocessing, remanufacturing and material reapplication of ship components. The third is to promote the construction of a green supply chain system, which mainly includes exploring the establishment of an industry carbon footprint management system, accelerating the construction of a green ship supporting supply chain, improving green and low-carbon standards, and improving public services for the green development of the industry.
